In its recently published April Visa Bulletin (https://www.ggw.com/post/april-2022-visa-bulletin), the Department of State advanced the dates for filing chart for EB-2 Indian nationals one full year, a significant acceleration from the March Visa Bulletin (https://www.ggw.com/post/march-2022-visa-bulletin).
The USCIS is strongly urging those Indian nationals who are eligible to file for adjustment of status to do so ASAP. Moreover, as per their previous guidance (https://www.ggw.com/post/employment-based-green-card-updates), the USCIS is encouraging eligible applicants to consider requesting to transfer the underlying basis of their pending adjustment of status applications in the EB-3 category to the EB-1 or EB-2 category if they meet the necessary criteria.
GGW is hopeful that this USCIS announcement means that many EB-2 Indian nationals, who have waited many, many years for their green card approvals will finally see their green cards approved in the upcoming months of the USCIS’ fiscal year.
