The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on July 18, 2025 that it has received enough petitions to reach the congressionally mandated 65,000 H-1B visa regular cap and the 20,000 H-1B visa U.S. advanced degree exemption, known as the master’s cap, for fiscal year 2026. Thus, they will not be running a second H-1B lottery that has occurred in prior years. New, cap-subject H-1B’s will be available next year for the FY2027 H-1B Cap.
